Ekko Insights is a development research consultancy. We specialize in leading in depth research with ordinary people to unpack their experiences around important and shifting development topics. We listen deeply and do our best to echo key ideas and insights out into the development conversation. This substack, The Development Ekko, is one way we’re working to do that. We will use this as a space to share what we’re thinking about and what we’re hearing in the course of our work. From our seat here in Nairobi, Kenya, the development outlook is gloomy. As a future post will outline, poverty is rising. People are struggling. And often it feels the international development agenda is out of step with the realities we’re seeing kwa ground. Our ambition as Ekko Insights is to know better with deep engagement and rigorous research. We’re hopeful that knowing better, together, means doing better for improving lives and livelihoods in this messy, complex, ever changing world.
